First Annual Vocabulary Parade 2011
For our Vocabulary Parade, students and staff were encouraged to select a word and dress up in a costume that represented their word. We had a parade in the auditorium and showed off our word and costumes in front of the whole school.
Debra Fraiser, the author and illustrator of the book, Miss Alaineus, A Vocabulary Disaster, has been inspiring 'word parades' in many schools from coast to coast. This book is a hilarious romp through the usually not-so-funny world of vocabulary. Sage misses school due to a cold and from there the misunderstanding begins. But “miscellaneous” is finally revealed for the word it truly is, and Sage manages to redeem herself in a marvelous and inspiring creative leap ! You should read this book. I highly recommend it.
