There's been a lot of buzz about kids learning to code lately. In today's digital world, coding is a fundamental skill alongside math and reading. The students were given the opportunity to learn to program and to be creative using code. We used a program called "Playground Swift". Ask your child to tell you more about it. Afterwards, we practiced making a 2-minute iMovie using our family history notes. We were videotaping ourselves about where our families come from and our family culture. The "genius" educators showed us how to download photos using google search, create a project on IMOVIE, narrate using voiceover and edit our videos. To top it off, we received a free Apple t-shirt and a lime green flash drive to save our iMovies. The coolest thing of all was how the flash drive turned into a wristband!
