Launching our Science/Math Unit
Students researched the question, "How many seeds are there in a pumpkin? " They jotted their hypothesis based on prior knowledge, books, and observations. We looked at the size, color, shape, and weight of each pumpkin. Students measured the circumference, and estimated the number of seeds in each pumpkin. Then they conducted the experiment by cutting open the pumpkins and counting the seeds in groups of 10's or 20's. Afterwards, we made conclusions about our findings.
Thank you, parents, for being part of this experience!
